Precision Measurement You Can Trust

ADMI operates a dedicated, climate-controlled inspection room equipped with a full suite of metrology instruments. Our inspection capability ensures that every critical dimension on every part is verified to customer specifications before it leaves our facility.

From first article inspections to production lot sampling, our quality team uses coordinate measuring machines, optical comparators, surface profilometers, and calibrated hand tools to validate dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and material properties. Every measurement is recorded, traceable, and available in comprehensive inspection reports.

Our inspection processes are built around the AS9100D quality management system, ensuring consistent methodology across all programs. Whether your requirement is a single prototype with a complete FAIR package or a production run requiring statistical process control, ADMI has the equipment and expertise to verify it.

Metrology Instruments & Capabilities

Our inspection room houses a comprehensive suite of precision measurement equipment, calibrated and maintained to NIST-traceable standards.

CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine)

High-accuracy 3D measurement for complex geometries. Full GD&T verification including true position, profile, concentricity, and runout. The backbone of our first article inspection process.

Optical Comparator

2D profile inspection with precision overlay comparison against nominal geometry. Ideal for verifying contour profiles, edge breaks, radii, and features that are difficult to access with contact measurement.

Surface Profilometer

Precision surface finish measurement capturing Ra, Rz, and Rmax values. Critical for sealing surfaces, bearing journals, and any feature where surface texture drives functional performance.

Hardness Tester

Rockwell, Brinell, and Vickers hardness verification to confirm heat treatment and material condition. Essential for validating that material properties meet specification requirements after processing.

Height Gauges

Precision height and step measurements for verifying datum-referenced dimensions, step heights, and parallelism. Digital readout with resolution to 0.0001″ for high-accuracy dimensional checks.

Pin & Thread Gauges

Go/no-go verification for hole diameters and thread acceptance. Calibrated gauge sets covering standard and specialty thread forms used in aerospace fastener applications.

— Inspection Services

Comprehensive Quality Documentation

From first article to final ship, every inspection milestone is documented with full traceability and delivered with the quality package your program requires.

First Article Inspection (AS9102 FAIR)

Complete first article inspection reports per AS9102 standard. Form 1 (Part Number Accountability), Form 2 (Product Accountability – Raw Material), and Form 3 (Characteristic Accountability) delivered with every first article.

In-Process Inspection

Critical dimension verification at key manufacturing stages. Setup verification, in-process checks, and operation-level sign-offs ensure dimensional conformance throughout the machining process.

Final Inspection

Comprehensive dimensional verification of all drawing characteristics prior to shipment. 100% inspection of critical features with sampling plans for non-critical dimensions per customer requirements.

Source Inspection Support

Full support for customer and government source inspection requirements. Dedicated staging area, inspection documentation pre-staged, and ADMI quality personnel available to support your source inspector.

Dimensional Inspection Reports

Formal inspection reports with actual measured values, nominal dimensions, and tolerance bands. CMM output reports, balloon drawings, and tabulated data formatted to your program requirements.

Material Certs & Certificate of Conformance

Complete material certifications traceable to mill source, chemical analysis, and mechanical properties. Certificate of Conformance (CoC) issued with every shipment confirming compliance to purchase order requirements.

Quality Process

Inspection at Every Stage

Our six-stage quality process ensures that no part ships without complete dimensional verification and documentation.

STEP 01

Incoming Inspection

Raw material verification: mill certs, hardness, dimensions confirmed against PO requirements

STEP 02

Setup Verification

First-piece inspection at each operation. Critical dims verified before production run begins

STEP 03

In-Process

Operator and QC checks at defined intervals. SPC data collection on critical characteristics

STEP 04

Final Inspection

100% verification of all critical dimensions. CMM, surface finish, and visual inspection

STEP 05

Documentation

FAIR, dimensional reports, CoC, material certs compiled into complete quality package

STEP 05

Ship

Parts packaged per spec, quality docs included. Lot traceability maintained in QMS

Climate-Controlled Precision

Temperature-Stabilized Metrology Room

Our dedicated inspection room is climate-controlled to maintain consistent temperature conditions for precision measurement. Temperature stability eliminates thermal expansion variables that can introduce measurement error, ensuring that the dimensions we report are accurate and repeatable.

All inspection equipment is housed in this controlled environment, from our CMM to hand gauges. Calibration is maintained on a strict schedule with all instruments traceable to NIST standards through accredited calibration laboratories.
