— Overview

Certified Aerospace Welding

ADMI provides AWS-certified welding services specifically tailored for aerospace and defense applications. Our welders hold certifications to AWS D1.2 (Structural Welding Code — Aluminum), AWS D1.6 (Structural Welding Code — Stainless Steel), and AWS D17.1 (Specification for Fusion Welding for Aerospace Applications), enabling us to produce weldments that meet the most demanding program requirements.

By combining certified welding with our 14-machine CNC operation, ADMI offers a unique advantage: machine and weld under one roof. Components can be precision-machined, welded into assemblies, and post-weld machined to final dimensions — all without leaving our facility. This eliminates vendor-to-vendor shipping, reduces lead times, and provides unified quality control across the entire manufacturing sequence.

Every weld is performed to documented procedures, inspected per applicable standards, and delivered with complete traceability documentation that satisfies AS9100D requirements and customer-specific quality clauses.

— Certifications

AWS Welding Certifications

Three AWS certifications covering the materials and applications most critical to aerospace and defense programs.

Structural Welding | Aluminum

Certified for structural welding of aluminum alloys including 6061, 2024, and 7075 series. Covers fillet welds, groove welds, and complete joint penetration welds on airframe and structural components.

Structural Welding | Stainless Steel

Certified for structural welding of austenitic, ferritic, and precipitation-hardened stainless steels including 303, 304, 316, and 17-4PH. Essential for corrosion-resistant aerospace hardware.

Aerospace Fusion Welding

The aerospace-specific welding specification covering fusion welding of metallic materials for flight hardware. Includes requirements for welder qualification, procedure qualification, and production welding controls.

— Processes

Welding Processes

Expert TIG and MIG welding capabilities for precision aerospace weldments.

TIG / GTAW Welding

Gas Tungsten Arc Welding

Our primary welding process for aerospace applications. TIG welding delivers the precision, control, and weld quality required for flight-critical hardware and thin-wall structures.

MIG / GMAW Welding

Gas Metal Arc Welding

Used for higher-deposition-rate applications where production speed and structural strength are priorities. MIG welding excels on thicker sections and larger weldments.

— Materials

Weldable Materials

Certified welding across the full range of aerospace alloys.

— Integration

Machine + Weld Under One Roof

Unified Manufacturing Flow

ADMI’s combined CNC machining and certified welding capabilities eliminate the need to split work across multiple vendors. Components are machined, welded, and post-weld machined in a single, controlled manufacturing environment.

— Quality

Weld Quality & Inspection

Every weld is inspected and documented to aerospace standards.

Visual Weld Inspection

100% visual inspection of all welds per AWS criteria. Documented with acceptance/rejection disposition and inspector certification records.

Non-Destructive Examination

NDE services including dye penetrant inspection (DPI) and radiographic inspection coordinated through approved subcontractors when required by customer specifications.

Weld Documentation

Complete weld documentation packages including WPS, PQR, welder qualification records, and inspection reports delivered with every aerospace weldment.

Dimensional Verification

CMM inspection of completed weldments to verify critical dimensions, flatness, and alignment after welding and any post-weld machining operations.
